Online Certification Form for Study-Abroad and Study-in-America Courses

In an effort to streamline the process of approval of study-abroad and study-in-America courses for which institutions of higher education receive state funding, the Coordinating Board has developed an online submission and certification form. Institutions of higher education planning to offer study-abroad and/or study-in-America courses as defined below must enter their courses and certify annually that these courses meet the minimum standards identified in the online form. The standards are attached. Certification must be completed prior to offering courses. No other paperwork is required.

Study-Abroad and Study-in-America Courses

Study-abroad courses are defined in Coordinating Board Rules, Chapter 4, Subchapter E, 4.103 as “off-campus, academic credit instruction which is delivered outside the United States primarily to regular on-campus students.” Study-in-America courses are defined as “off-campus, academic credit instruction which is delivered outside Texas but in the United States primarily to regular on-campus students.”

To access the online form, enter your institution's FICE code and password. An e-mail notification will be sent to the institution's contact once certification is completed and confirmed.
